- once upon a time. . . . .
back in 1976 there was a ufo sighting
My journey into the world of UFOs — or UAPs, as they’re now known — didn’t begin with the internet, social media, or clickbait headlines.
It began in 1976, when I was nine years old.
I was playing in a field near where I lived at the time in the Southampton area of the UK, when I looked up and saw something that has stayed with me ever since:
a dark, cigar-shaped object, silent, steady, and completely out of place in the sky.
I didn’t have the language for it back then.
I just knew it wasn’t normal — and that feeling never really left.
A Lifelong Curiosity
As I grew older, that early experience quietly shaped my curiosity. In my teens, I began actively reading and learning about UFO phenomena, and that interest followed me into adulthood. In 1996/7, I took things a step further and attended a UFOLOGY course run by Totton College, taught by Craige Roberts. It was there that my fascination became something more structured — grounded in research, historical accounts, and critical thinking rather than fantasy. Since then, I’ve dipped in and out of the subject throughout my life — always watching, always questioning.

Sustainability Timeline
Our sustainability journey began in 2017, when THEUAPMAN moved to Kornit DTG printing and a paperless order management system, saving approximately 8 tonnes of paper — the equivalent of 192 trees — every year. All of our T-shirts, hoodies and sweatshirts are printed using vegan, eco-friendly, OEKO-TEX® approved inks, meaning they contain no regulated or unregulated chemicals that are harmful to people or the environment.
In 2018, after learning that 14 million tonnes of plastic enter our oceans each year, we committed to removing plastic from our apparel packaging wherever possible. At the time, there were no off-the-shelf mailing solutions that were both completely plastic-free and strong enough to withstand the postal network and British weather — so we commissioned our own custom-made paper mailer bags. By April 2019, THEUAPMAN completed the transition to plastic-free packaging for all T-shirts, hoodies and sweatshirts, saving approximately 8 tonnes of single-use plastic every year.
All textile waste generated during the production of our apparel is fully recycled, given a second life in products such as carpet underlay, ensuring it never enters landfill. Since August 2019, THEUAPMAN has been offsetting its carbon footprint by supporting tree-planting initiatives in the UK and now works in partnership with Ecologi to track and grow our positive impact.

Cutting Through the Noise
Let’s be honest — the UFO/UAP space is noisy. There’s misinformation, exaggeration, outright nonsense, and a lot of people chasing attention. Because of that, I focus only on what I consider the top 5% of credible, well- documented cases.
I’m interested in:
Eyewitness accounts with multiple corroborations
Military and aviation encounters
Historical records that refuse to disappear
Events that don’t fit comfortably into conventional explanations
I actively try to avoid the rest — which isn’t easy.
